Photographer Justin Battles uses his lens to capture the powerful beauty of the unpredictable and often tumultuous Florida weather. Many of his panoramic landscapes depict ominous clouds looming over towering skylines and spidery lightening bolts striking along the shores of lakes. His other images show off Florida’s more serene side, where breathtaking sunsets, pristine beaches and majestic forests provide peaceful solitude.
By including man-made elements – as obvious as a city skyline or as subtle as a simple dock on the edge of a lake, Battles presents an interesting juxtaposition between Florida’s booming population growth and the untamable natural forces characteristic of the Sunshine State.
