“Heroe” by Ivan Silva (Mexico). Grand Prize Winner. Shot on iPhone 12 Pro in Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico.
Thousands of images were submitted to the 16th annual iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS), and now the overall and category winners have been announced. All corners of the globe have been recognized in the photo contest, which demonstrates the creative capabilities of iPhone photography. This year’s grand prize went to Mexico’s Ivan Silva, while photographers from Germany, the United States, and Bosnia and Herzegovina ranked as the top Photographers of the Year.
In addition to the top prizes, the winners of the contest’s 14 different categories were also announced. From Travel and Landscape to Portraits and Lifestyle, these individual categories give iPhone photographers an opportunity to shine. Standouts include Skye Snyder’s colorful image of a group of flamingos, which won the Animals category, as well as Shusen Jia’s image that topped the Lifestyle category. Jia’s photo, which shows a bunch of young girls playing around the pool, perfectly captures the spirit of childhood summers.
There were also plenty of black and white photographs there were recognized. These include Tao Fan’s haunting image of an old steel plant in Inner Mongolia, as well as Ton Ensing’s evocative photo of the sun rising on a farm in the Netherlands.
Check out more of our favorite winners below and browse the full winner’s gallery, which includes the top three photos from every category, on the IPPAWARDS website.
