Intense, Cinematic Style Photography (20 photos)

Alex Prager is one of those people who can create cinematic style photography that makes you feel as though you’re watching a silent thriller. She’s a Los Angeles native who finds inspiration not just in film and fashion but in the City of Angels, herself. In this city she says, “The sky is always blue, the birds are always singing. It’s a strange picture of perfection – but there is an eerie monotony that creeps in. It can slowly drive a person crazy, that sense of unease under the surface of all this beauty and promise.” A self-taught photographer, Prager found her passion after seeing an exhibition of William Eggleston’s work. She’s now one of four photographers featured in New York MoMA’s New Photography 2010 exhibition coming this fall.
