Some folks are effortlessly cool, and then there’s Rayyan Arkan Dikha—aka the “Aura Farming Boy” or “Indonesian Boat Racing Kid.” Dikha proved he’s on another level with his style, poise, and confidence. In videos that have gone viral on TikTok and Instagram, the 11-year-old from Indonesia stands at the front of a speeding boat, donning sunglasses and traditional black attire while delivering a calm, smooth dance of fist rolls and arm sweeps. He looks so unbothered that people have dubbed it “aura farming.”
There are a couple of things to break down in the now-viral trend. The first is aura farming. If you’re unfamiliar, the term refers to behavior where someone does something for the sake of looking cool, or to give off a vibe or presence. (It’s often in reference to anime characters.) Dikha gives off a vibey performance, so the aura farming reference is apt.
Now, why was the boy on the front of the boat? Dikha was participating as the Togak Luan, which is the dancer standing at the bow during the Pacu Jalur boat race, a centuries‑old festival held in Riau every August for Independence Day. The Togak Luan directs the rowers where to go using dance. Dikha’s choreography was unplanned and shows that he has the right instincts to perform under pressure and do it in a way that projects calm, confidence, and aesthetics. The effect is amplified because he’s doing so in front of rowers who are exerting a lot of effort with every stroke.
Dikha’s performance was first posted to TikTok in January 2025 but didn’t go viral until June 2025, when social media users remixed a video to “Young Black & Rich” by Melly Mike. Since then, it’s inspired dance tribute videos from folks around the world, including celebrities like Travis Kelce and Steve Aoki. Dikha is also being recognized locally. He’s been declared a Tourism Ambassador of Riau Province and appeared on national TV and at Jakarta events.
