The Dark Side of the Covers is a witty collection of classic album covers that show what it might look like from the “other side.” Created by Flickr user Harvezt, each imaginative design features the well-known art from albums like the Beatles’ Abbey Road, Nirvana’s Nevermind, and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, with a bit of a twist.
In each clever creation, the artist added a touch of humor to the iconic imagery by skillfully reproducing the scenes in the style of the original, but flipping the perspective so it appears as if we are viewing the scene from the back. In doing so, Harvezt completely changes the recognizable and familiar concepts by revealing new and surprising elements. Viewers are invited to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of things like the policeman who stopped traffic for the Beatles and Bruce Springsteen sporting a Superman tee on his Born in the U.S.A. album.
These are just some of the artist’s extensive collection and you can check out the rest of the set on Flickr.
