Outer space has captivated humans for centuries, with many artists choosing to express the mesmerizing beauty of far-away worlds and swirling nebulas in their work. With an aim to bring the wonders of the universe indoors, contemporary glass artist Milica Dimitrova hand-crafts incredible glow-in-the-dark wall clocks that capture the magic of the glittering galaxy. From alien planets to astral maps, her clocks allow you to appreciate the beauty of the Milky Way from the comfort of your home.
Dimitrova started working with glass in 2010 when she was inspired to create a decorative design for her own living space. “I was greatly impressed by the elegance of this material,” she says. “Its deep and transparent qualities; its profound sophistication and diversity; and its inherent ability to convey a meaningful message through a beautiful array of colors.” Dimitrova founded Milliart studio in 2013 with her partner Dimitar. Together, the pair design and handcraft all their gorgeous glass clocks and other decorative items and sell them in their Etsy shop.
Dimitrova impressive portfolio features designs that celebrate the moon, the sun, the nine planets of our solar system, as well as the 12 zodiac constellations. Each one-of-a-kind wall clock is hand-painted with swirls of acrylic or glass paints in striking colors. And thanks to an extra layer of luminescent paint, the clocks glow brightly in the dark, bringing some extra cosmic magic to the room.
