Felix Art Fair, one of the top contemporary art fairs in Southern California, draws from this unique mix. Filling The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, one of the most iconic buildings in Los Angeles, with art, Felix Art Fair boasts a relaxed atmosphere that fosters conversation, collaboration, and community under the bright sun of Southern California.
The seventh edition of Felix Art Fair, which was established in 2019, opens on Wednesday, February 19. Inspired by the intimate hotel fair format that rose to popularity in the 1990s, Felix Art Fair gathers over 60 galleries from around the world, from Chicago and Miami to Havana to Lisbon and Turin. Among these are over 30 first-time exhibitors, such as ILY2 from Portland, Oregon, and sobering galerie from Paris, France.
This edition of Felix Art Fair not only spotlights local galleries, such as la BEAST gallery and La Loma Projects, but has created efforts to support those who were touched by the recent LA wildfires. Felix Art Fair has launched the Felix Wildfire Fund For Grief X Hope which offers direct help to victims, including aid to artists and art workers who were affected.
“We are so excited to be back for our seventh edition of Felix. Last year was a big year for us, and we are looking forward to continuing the momentum as a key anchor of LA Art Week,” Felix Art Fair cofounders Dean Valentine, Mills Morán, and Al Morán said in a joint statement.
In acception to the work of both emerging and established creators, this event also provides a great opportunity to take in the Art Deco architecture of the charming hotel venue that opened its doors in 1927—a brilliant work of art on its own.
