Artists Maria Leyden and Chris Mason create giant colorless pictures that are then embellished using a vibrant set of community markers. Once the piece is entirely inked, the canvas becomes something for everyone to admire, and it serves as a unique keepsake for the event.
Fancy Features produces illustrations that are completely customizable based on their special occasion. The company has worked with the likes of charities, large corporations, schools, and weddings, creating more than 100 one-of-a-kind coloring canvases. To do this, they work with their clients on ideas for content. “You can ask me to put anything you like into your picture,” Leyden explains. She then drafts a design, gets its approval from the client, and illustrates it as big as the person or organization wants. The addition of specific people, places, and architecture means that these massive pictures are not only entertaining, but conceptually meaningful, too.
