Lifestyle photographers who love to travel, take note—your perfect job just became available. Perfocal, a UK website that pairs high-quality photographers with clients recently received an intriguing booking request. While they typically deal in one-off shoots, a well-traveled family came to them with a whole new proposal. They aren’t looking for a photographer to join them for just one vacation, but to come on board and travel the world with them in order to capture all their special family memories.
That’s right, this well-heeled family is offering an £80,000 (about $101,000) annual salary to an experienced photographer to rack up some serious frequent flier miles with them. The family had worked with a photographer on a semi-permanent basis previously, but when that person needed to move on due to family commitments, the position opened up. While the role comes with many perks—all travel, accommodation, and food are paid for, plus 30 days of vacation and sick leave—there are also sacrifices.
Whoever takes the position needs to be ok with traveling on relatively short notice, up to three months at a time and often with just a few days at home in between trips. The photographer can expect to work up to 10 hours a day capturing the lifestyle photos the family is after and, of course, will need to gel with all their different personalities. But in exchange, they’ll be rewarded with incredible opportunities like attending the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco, diving in the Maldives, and attending Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
At the moment, the family has remained anonymous due to the high profile nature of the father’s job. They’re looking for a photographer with at least 5 years of experience with lifestyle photography and will be running extensive background checks on candidates. Shortlisted candidates will then be introduced to the family during a weekend-long interview in order to see if the chemistry is right.
The family has been searching for the right person to capture their memories since September and are hoping to have someone in place for their first trip in February 2019. If you think you fit the bill, visit Perfocal and fill out their form to register your interest.
