For years, we’ve marveled at the beautifully meticulous arrangements by Nashville-based photographer Emily Blincoe. Her aesthetically pleasing compositions organize objects according to their shape, color, and size, to great effect–they delight us with their ability to find uniformity in an otherwise unpredictable world.
Each of Blincoe’s photographs offer small moments of zen. Using bunches of candies, berries, mushrooms, and insects, she groups them into structured, gridded displays and calming gradient waves. Together, the individual items demonstrate the strength in numbers–the repetition is a powerful visual force that provides soothing optical pleasure for our often-overstimulated brains.
