Elderly WWII Survivors

Tragically, many soldiers are lost at war. For those who are lucky enough to survive, they often return home to receive medals and awards, but they’re also burdened with memories most of us could never begin to understand.

For his final project at Middlesex University, London-based Konstantin Suslov collected photographs of WWII veterans across Europe, including UK, Russia, Germany, Poland and France, within their personal environment.

“In the present day, many of people who fought in World War II have either passed away or are elderly, so in light of the 65th Anniversary of the end of war, I feel that now is an appropriate and opportune moment to document these great individuals in order to provide a historical, visual document that will have value for my generation and many generations to come,” Suslov explains.
