Artistically arranging delicate and fragile flowers is an undoubtedly difficult task. Paris-based botanical artist Duy Anh Nhan Duc, however, makes the floral craft look easy breezy with his stunning series of carefully-arranged and airy dandelion art.
With an interest in the “fragility and poetry” of plants, the self-taught artist meticulously crafts dainty dandelions into ethereal sculptural shapes. Sometimes, he employs entire, mature blossoms, keeping the exquisite orbs intact and emphasizing their round forms. In other instances, he scrupulously plucks the dandelions and astoundingly arranges the tiny individual seeds into perfect patterns. For some pieces, he even combines the two, creating one-of-a-kind arrangements that showcase his creative compositions and exquisite eye for detail.
To display his delicate art, Nhan Duc often mounts the monochrome creations onto steel and wood and covers them with glass, allowing them to be safely exhibited and admired without the risk of harming the sculptures. In addition to dabbling in dandelion art, Nhan Duc also utilizes other plant life in his practice, including various leaves, an assortment of flowers, tree bark, and even rice.
