Diggie Vitt’s Surreal 365 Project Comes to a Spectacular End

In the seven months that have passed since we last checked in on talented, young photographer Diggie Vitt, a lot has changed: he embarked on a long road trip across the United States in order to fuel inspiration for his photography; he moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Los Angeles; and he finally completed his year-long 365 Project. In the midst of all of these life-changing transformations, one thing has remained constant: Vitt’s incredibly surreal photography.

If anything, the young photographer’s images have only gotten better and better, as Vitt has continuously pushed his creative boundaries and experimented more with different themes, settings, and techniques. While many of his photos continue to have surreal and otherworldly elements, his artistic maturation is evident from his later 365 images. Both subject matter and color palettes have become darker and more naturalistic, as Vitt has started to favor more in-camera work over photo manipulations. The young creative has also started playing more with medium and layers, as some of his images are film prints that have been torn or drawn on. Despite this bolder experimentation, Vitt’s brilliant eye for composition and compellingly eerie narratives remain at the heart of his beautiful imagery.

Although his 365 journey has ended, Vitt has many new things in store for the future. In an interview with Fluster Magazine, he said, “I really want to sell my art in galleries and have more magazine features. I also want to rent my own art space to work on bigger projects. I just have to keep creating. After my 365 I will most likely take a short break, and start putting more time and emotion into individual photos. I feel my best work is going to be produced after my 365.”
