Mesmerizing Patterns Constructed Within Surreal Landscapes

Polish photographer Dariusz Klimczak applies his photo manipulation skills to carefully construct surreal landscapes filled with patterns. The recurring sequence of shapes and forms in Klimczak’s aptly titled series Patterns include both complex, irregular visual schemes and clean, symmetrical patterns that are indescribably pleasing to browse through.

Each monochromatic image presents a vast landscape stretching out to a distance, often at the center of the frame. From a neatly checkered floor to a puzzling garden maze, the series presents a range of visual designs that play with line, shape, and depth perception. Accompanying the visually striking patterns are surreal elements like the soleplate of a giant iron sitting in a field like an enormous monument or a ladder leading down, into a floorboard.
