Did you know that Thomas Edison, Stephen Spielberg, and F. Scott Fitzgerald are just a few highly influential individuals who’ve struggled with dyslexia? It’s been said that as many as 15-20% of the population as a whole exhibit symptoms of the disorder, which include: mixing up similar words, slow or inaccurate reading, and issues with spelling and writing.
October is National Dyslexia Awareness Month and in preparation for the eye-opening days to come, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve added graphic designer Daniel Britton’s dyslexia posters to the shop. While the designer’s initial aim was to create a font that would help people better understand dyslexia, we feel Britton’s thoughtful design and layout also make for a modern and educational addition to bare walls. Whether you or a loved one is dyslexic, or you’re an educator trying to raise awareness, Britton’s creative graphics are a great way to support and better understand those with the disability.
