Anti-Stress Coloring Book Offers Fun Creative Therapy for Adults

Coloring books geared towards adults are a fun way for people to unwind from the stresses of everyday life. Grown ups can step away from their computer screens and simply focus on coloring inside the lines, which is often seen as a meditative and relaxing experience. The newly-released Creative Therapy: An Anti-Stress Coloring Book continues this popular trend with 124 pages of imaginative illustrations.

Artists Hannah Davies, Richard Merritt, and Jo Taylor authored the book, featuring 61 detailed line drawings that are ready for interpretive coloration. Some of the pages’ backgrounds have been partially filled in, a premeditated tactic to stimulate the mind and provide a visual push for color schemes. But, ultimately, it’s up to the person coloring to decide how they’d like to adorn the compositions’ intricately-patterned animals, geometric shapes, and abstract flourishes.

In addition to coloring, this book offers another form of creative therapy – doodling! There are 32 illustrations that have simple shapes and a few lines, prompting the participant to complete the image on their own. They can mimic the outlines or create their own totally unique drawings. This activity, like coloring, allows someone to immerse themselves in a lighthearted, artistic activity with positive mental health benefits.
