Minnesota-based character artist and graphic designer Kells O’Hickey decided to use his drawing skills to make a creative gift for his girlfriend, Lindsay. His illustrations depict portraits of the couple in the style of 10 of their favorite cartoons. From Disney to anime, the thoughtful drawings showcase the talented artist’s diverse drawing skills.
“I had drawn a few pictures of Lindsay and I in Futurama and Adventure Time styles previously and her reaction had given me an idea, I should draw us in my interpretation of the styles of all the shows we’ve watched,” explains O’Hickey. The caricature styles include The Simpsons, where the pair are drawn in basic shapes and feature the iconic yellow complexion; Family Guy, where they both feature expressive white grins; and even Dragon Ball Z’s anime style, where O’Hickey draws himself with huge spiky hair, and muscular arms.
Of course, Lindsay was delighted with her illustrated gift, telling O’Hickey: “I love you to the moon and back.”
