Cherry Blossom Tree House (5 pics)

While we’ve heard of modern homes being built for grandiose views of the ocean, we’ve never heard of one being built for views of trees. But then again, the cherry blossom tree isn’t like any ordinary tree. In Japan, cherry blossoms are richly symbolic. They are an omen of good fortune and a representation of love and affection. They’re also an enduring metaphor for the fleeting nature of life, and as such are frequently depicted in art. Architects A.L.X. built a house so that the very top floor looks straight into a park where two, beautiful cherry blossoms live. While the first and second floor are almost completely enclosed in cube-like spaces, the third floor stretches out like a tree’s branches. The floor to ceiling window looks directly at the trees, giving those in the dining room a unique experience they’ll never forget.
