The Buffalo Zoo welcomed a cute little polar bear cub on November 27th that is finally being revealed to the masses. Between Daisy the kitten, Miss Xuxu the puppy, and now Luna the polar bear cub, it seems like we’re building our own virtual zoo of the cutest baby animals in the world!
The photogenic little addition, nicknamed Luna for being born on a full moon, is only three months old which means she’s still too young to go on exhibit for the public but as of this week the zoo says, “She will be visible on a closed-circuit television in the Zoo’s M&T Bank Rainforest FallsMonday through Friday from 12 p.m. until 3.p.m.”
While the zoo is thrilled to have such an adorable attraction join their family, they are now seeking to raise funds for a new polar bear exhibit. They have, thus far, raised $14 million of their $18 million goal to build a new entrance and Arctic Edge exhibit for the arctic bears to stay in Buffalo. More information about pledging donations can be found on their website. Updates about Luna and the progression of the exhibit can also be tracked through the Buffalo Zoo’s Facebook page.
