Nature photographer Peter Lik is highly renowned in the photography world. You’ll be surprised to find out that he’s entirely self-taught. Born in Australia, Lik honed his craft since he was 8-years-old when he received his first camera. He has since made several trips to America, creating an extensive series of works entitled Spirit of America in which he captured landscapes from all 50 states.
The photos seen here are of canyons Lik has visited throughout his travels. The shots are amazing and simply breathtaking. The way the light plays with the natural coloring of the rocks, and the angles at which the photographer captures the wave-like forms, make these solid stone bodies look as if they’re moving.
