Founder of the Facebook group Border-Collie Owners South-Australia, Yvonne McGrath, had a dream: to convene the greatest assembly of Border Collies the world has ever seen. That dream came true when 576 Border Collies gathered with their owners last Sunday at Willaston Oval, outside Adelaide in South Australia. The event broke the previous unofficial world record of 503 Border Collies in one shot, held by Dr Katrina Warren’s Border Collie Fun Day in 2013.
Unfortunately, The Guinness Book of World Records does not accept breed-specific records, but the result is still a win for both the jovial canines and their owners, who raised $6,000 (AUD) for charity and had a memorable day out. The money raised will go to SA Dog Rescue, Guardian Angel Animal Rescue, and Scruffer Lovers.
576 Border Collie dogs gathered on Sunday and broke the unofficial world record for the most assembled in one place at the same time.
These energetic pups looks very proud of their achievement.
