Based in Copenhagan, international architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group, aka BIG, has released its conceptual plans for an innovative residential complex in South Korea. The project known as Cross # Towers is set to be part of the Yongsan master plan in the developing Yongsan International Business District in Seoul.
The structure, whose design mimics the hashtag symbol (#), includes two soaring towers of uneven height interlocked by two perpendicular cross-bridges. The parallel towers measure at 214 meters and 204 meters in height with the elevated bridges connecting at 70m and 140m. Each linking overpass includes a garden open to all residents of the complex. In addition to the sky gardens, the interconnected establishment is set to include over 600 housing units and facilities including a library, gallery space, and a kindergarten.
