It’s much easier to window shop online than it is in person. With just a couple of clicks, you can fill your virtual cart with all sorts of goodies from around the world. But, it can be hard to keep track of all the cool things you’ve seen throughout the year—we get it, we experience a deluge of products, too! This is one reason why we like reflecting on a selection of our favorite creative goods from the past year.
From the innovative to the whimsical, a variety of items made our 2018 list. Some of our top picks combine the past with present trends. Vans and the Van Gogh Museum, for instance, transformed the iconic paintings of Vincent van Gogh by applying them to practical items we use every day, including clothing and backpacks. Today is Art Day is a brand taking a different approach to this practice. They are known for turning famous artists into five-inch action figures. This year, they added a new miniaturized person to their collection. Their version of Salvador Dalí, who is known for his fanciful facial hair, includes three interchangeable mustaches that you can swap out as often as you like.
We have a soft spot for artist-inspired products, but that’s not all that wowed us in 2018. Scroll down for our list of art supplies, hi-tech gear, adorable crafts (including a cuddly octopus), and much more.
