Located in Oberlngenfeld, Austria, the Aqua Dome is an impressive contemporary spa and retreat found at the foothills of the area’s scenic mountains. Using the rocky backdrop for inspiration, many of the structures featured at the lodge reflect the shapes and forms found within the surrounding landscape. This includes the spiked roof of the observation tower and the conical structure that connects to the three outside basins.
Inside the relaxing retreat, the architectural aesthetic continues to echo its natural environment. The interior of the spa reflects the natural alpine style of the area with locally sourced wood and stone being used heavily in the design. All of the water used within the getaway is also drawn naturally from an underground thermal reservoir located below the lodging.
All in all, the massive retreat is comprised of a 200-room hotel as well as various spa amenities including saunas and massage rooms. The resort also boasts elevated, bowl-shaped pools that feature underwater music and lights for swimmers to enjoy. Just below them is a more traditional pool for both kids and adults to take advantage of as well.
