More Incredible Screw Art Portraits by Andrew Myers

California-based artist Andrew Myers, best known for his screw art pieces, continues to astound us with his body of work. Each meticulously crafted creation is a testament to the artist’s time-consuming efforts. Somewhere between a portrait and a sculpture, many of Myers’ works rely on his keen eye for shadow, shape, and texture to add that extra element of three-dimensional illusion to each piece.

With each new addition, the artist’s work evolves, adding fresh ideas that play with the viewer’s visual perception. Using countless screws, the innovative artist has managed to skillfully hone his craft, tackling multiple subjects and modes of visual perception. He even adds depth to each piece by drilling each of his materials into his canvas at different lengths. My Modern Met was lucky enough to see his work in person. Check out of Alice and Eugene as they visit Myers’ studio.
