Rescued Dog Takes Grateful Photographer on Fairy-Tale Adventures

Many rescue dog owners say that they didn’t save their pup–it saved them. Amanda Tromp‘s story is a powerful example of the bond between a human and her dog, which helped her change her life and discover her passion for photography. It all started three years ago when Tromp volunteered to help raise a litter of huskies that were abandoned by their mother. After bottle feeding and raising the puppies, she ended up adopting a chunky boy with beautiful blue eyes, whom she named Kyro.

The pup had more of an impact on her than she ever imagined. At the time, Tromp felt trapped in an abusive relationship. Taking Kyro on short adventures gave her an excuse to temporarily escape her situation, and he eventually inspired her to leave her controlling boyfriend for good.

As the two became an inseparable duo, they made new memories exploring mountains, beaches, and snow-covered landscapes. Tromp captures Kyro against mystical, serene backdrops that speak to the tranquility of nature. “Through the lens of my camera I tried to capture the ‘Fairy-tale’ moments we were seeing in our journeys together,” she writes on Buzzfeed. “I like to share the joy these moments brought to me.. In hopes of inspiring others to find their places of happiness.”

Tromp continues to share the breathtaking views, canine smiles, and their on-going adventures on her popular Instagram account called Goldilocks and the Wolf. Through the gorgeous photos and heartfelt captions, she also encourages people to believe that hope still exists–she’s living proof that you can turn your life around. “You will find yourself again. I found my four-legged Knight–who knows where yours is waiting?”
