Legendary trailer company Airstream is making their smallest model even more nimble with new all-terrain features. The Basecamp X helps travelers keep the spirit of adventure with a sleek design that allows it to go where other Airstream models can’t. Towable by a variety of small and mid-sized SUVs, it’s a great choice for independent travelers looking to travel light on the open road.
Airstream introduced its standard Basecamp model in 2016 as a small, affordable model that is right in line with the tiny homes trend. So what’s new with the Basecamp X? The package is perfect for those looking to go off the beaten path, with a 3-inch lift kit for higher ground clearance, Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires, a steel front stone guard, and increased departure angles.
As a nod to the independent adventurer, the Basecamp X is also packed with storage space, so you can load up and stay on the road for longer. The lounge area is easily converted into a sleep space thanks to a modular floor bed, and a spacious rear hatch makes it easy to load up bulky gear. Standard Basecamp features like integrated USB charging and a solar pre-wire kit are included.
“Our Basecamp X encourages you to go on bigger adventures,” said Airstream CEO and President, Bob Wheeler. “You can tackle rough roads and cold-weather driving with confidence. The higher departure angle along with the aerodynamic design opens up a new world to explore.”
The Airstream Basecamp X retails for $39,600. You can find more information and request a brochure from the Airstream website.
