Little Girl Explores an Orange Color-Themed World

Fine art photographer Adrien Broom is back to continue her fantasy-filled series known as The Color Project with The Orange World. Having first begun the project with the intent of creating an eight-part exploration of the world of color as seen through the eyes of a little girl (starting with white, red, yellow, and blue), she resumes the immersive narrative with the warm glow of orange.

This particular world is introduced as the young child drops in and, frame by frame, discovers the eye-catching aspects of the environment along with the viewer. Like a classic fairy tale, the girl is met with dancing butterflies all around her and a cavern of lamps to light her way through the mysterious forest full of reddish-yellow foliage. By the end, she is drawn to a light from within one of the trees, which is sure to transport her to her next world of color.

The photographer’s intricate set, which is beautifully designed and constructed by Broom and her team over in her New Haven, Connecticut studio, is a big part of each location the young girl explores. Broom manages to not only fill each scene with the particular color she’s working with, but also add surreal elements that complement each other and offer a sense of personality.

We’re excited to see what’s yet to come! In the meantime, checkout some behind the scenes footage of this shoot in the video, below.
