If you’re looking to sell your car you could just put up an ad on Craigslist or eBay. You could even just head to your local dealer to try and get a good deal. But what if you wanted to be a little creative?
We could all learn something from Peter Bohus.
Bohus worked as a producer, solicited his talented friends like Kristof Deak to be his director and editor and Tamas Olajos to be his photographer. Olajos knew of a model, Liliane Spielmann, who Bohus felt was perfect for the role. “Liliane and Porsche are very similar characters being hot and cute at the same time,” said Bohus. “Also she came up with the slogan: ‘Get a life. Buy my Porsche.’”
This was his hilarious ad: “I am reluctant to sell my beautiful Porsche 911 Targa as I no longer have the time or energy to cope with the pressures of being in the public eye of admirers, gorgeous women constantly falling at my feet, always having to arrive in style to decadent fetish parties, long drives to classic motor shows and trying to find a parking space at Les Trois Garcons’.
I’m now looking for the right candidate to hand down this hedonist roof down boxer engined lifestyle so that I may retire and have a long break in Nepal.”
The whole process of producing a short film and photo shoot turned out to be a memoir of the iconic classic car that had been Bohus’ dream to own since he was a kid.
The video and Tumblr instantly became a hit online. “I was expecting some hype but not to this overwhelming extent in such a short period of time,” he shares. “It’s quite tiring to reply all kinds of inquiries and praises. On a more serious note, I feel like I could be doing this for a living now.”
In addition to those emails, Jalopnik wrote this article, Piston Heads is calling it genius and suggested that it’s “the best classified ads ever” and a high profile Porsche personality contacted Bohus to possibly film together!
