Succulents will never go out of style, and it seems that throughout the years, they’ve only grown more popular. Their soft green colors and diverse leaf shapes make them perfect for formal occasions or in everyday life. We’ve seen how well the fleshy leaves work as elegant living jewelry—but it doesn’t stop there. It translates to hair accessories, too. Iryna Osinchuk-Chajka of Eten Iren has created a series of succulent hair pieces that look as though the waxy buds are intertwined with your hair. Best of all, these pieces can be worn again and again. Osinchuk-Chajka has crafted the accessories using clay—a fact you’d never realize because they appear so lifelike.
Using oven-bake polymer clay, Osinchuk-Chajka flattens, rolls, and curls the material into leaves and tiny buds. Each is made by hand—she doesn’t use any molds—and then they’re painted with a small brush. To make the succulents look real, she masterfully includes subtle variations in color that you’d normally find on living succulents. Once these handheld sculptures are complete, Osinchuk-Chajka attaches them to hair clips and combs to ensure they’ll stay in your hair.
With a wide range of style and colors, the succulent hair pieces can be worn at a wedding or to your favorite cafe. They are now available in the the Eten Iren Etsy shop.
