When Tallinn, Estonia-based photographer Liisa Luts and her fiancé decided to get married, they wanted a simple and unconventional wedding without any fuss or fanfare. As Luts told us in an email, the couple wanted to avoid the stress of traditional ceremonies, which involve an infinite number of decisions about the cake, gown, guest list, etc. That’s why Luts made the unusual decision to be her own official wedding photographer instead of hiring someone else, leading to a unique photo series that documents a wedding day from the bride’s perspective
From morning to night on August 28th, Luts carried a Fujifilm X-T10 everywhere with her to capture meaningful moments and precious memories. Looking at her photos, it’s fascinating to see the small details that caught her eye, giving us a glimpse into the mind of the bride throughout the day. “I just felt that I want something different, not those posed beauty shots and not that post-processed glamorous photo gallery,” Luts told PetaPixel. “With all respect to the wedding photographers, I just wanted something more ‘us’ and therefore more authentic. . . And what could be more real than me taking the photos myself on the way as the day goes?”
