Dad Turns Toast Into Inventive Sculptures for His Daughter with Food Allergies to Make Eating More Fun

It may be a basic breakfast food, but there’s nothing bland about this toast. Every morning, Adam Perry turns golden bread to 3D art to nourish and entertain his youngest of two daughters, who’s on a restricted diet due to severe food allergies.

Perry told ABC that he was feeling bad for serving his little girl the same ordinary white toast with sunflower oil spread each day, sans fun flavor or variety. So, he started to get creative, using a knife to carve the crusts into boomboxes, boats, and more. He now shares the two-slice sculptures with thousands of online admirers on his @2slicesoftoast Instagram account.

Though a feast for eyes far and wide, the edible designs delight his kids most of all. His nine-year-old is now excited to enjoy her morning meals, and her 13-year-old sister gets a kick out of the project, too. Perry reminds us all that it’s perfectly fine to play with your food—in fact, it’s a treat for the whole family.
