Todd may be a fox, but he wags his tail, plays with toys, and even walks on a leash just like a dog. The 11-month-old domestic pet belongs to Emma D’Sylva, who rescued the animal seven months ago after his previous owners couldn’t take care of him anymore. “He was a bit crazy when he first came to me last year but now he has a really strong bond with me,” the 25-year-old told the Daily Mail.
Although the fox kit was much more hyperactive and harder to manage when he first came under Emma’s care, he’s since become a complete sweetheart and has even picked up a few canine-like behaviors from spending so much time with Emma’s two dogs. Todd sleeps in a blanket-lined kennel in his large garden enclosure, plays energetically with Emma’s labrador retrievers, and loves to be stroked and cuddled. He can’t be let off his leash outside because he’s deaf and wouldn’t be able to hear Emma calling him back, but Todd still enjoys going for walks with his human and dog friends.
The adorable fox lives in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire with 40 other tame animals that include a skunk, a raccoon, lizards, and more. Emma, who runs Creature Class Animal Encounters, frequently takes her pets to schools and care homes in order to let children and the elderly learn more about and interact with captive-bred animals.
