Tower 2.0 is an architectural design proposal by Polish architect Adam Wiercinski that resolves to revive the historic water tower in Wronki, turning it into a multipurpose venue, while retaining its core architecture. The basic concept of the revamp is to add rings around the tower, keeping the Neo-gothic water reservoir visible and allowing visitors to to explore various commercial and retail sites in the extended pods.
Though the concept proposes to increase the space of the monument as a whole from 190m2 to 800m2 with the inclusion of the exterior rings and modular rooms (which can be shifted, added, or removed), Wiercinski seeks to keep the centric tower intact. This preservation of the core is perhaps the most important element as the basis of the architect’s project. The added architecture is designed to accent but not interfere.
