I Love Modern Architecture – National Performing Arts Center: Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Scheduled to break ground in December 2008 and expected to complete in 2012, The National Performing Arts Center is more than just eye candy. Francine Houben, founder of Mecanoo Architects, created it in response to the subtropical climate of the city of Kaohsiung. As a result she has received the Cityscape Architectural Award for her expressive design, the integration of the complex into the surrounding park, the advanced theatre design, and technical innovation. Thank you Francine for making this world a little more magnificent.
